Formal Education

Administrator’s License and Teaching Credentials

I carry an Administrator’s license in Oregon, California, and Washington. I served as the Principal at Hillcrest Elementary in North Bend, Oregon where it was my honor to work with 490 K-5 students and to manage a team of 70 staff. As the only Administrator in the building, I led educational and behavioral programs and oversaw daily operations.

I also carry teaching licenses in both Oregon and California.

Multi-tiered systems of support for academics, attendance, and behavior are key to a successful school. I am deeply familiar with all three systems. I spearheaded the development of a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Manual for the North Bend School District.

Coast Connections is a partnership between Lincoln County School District and the Oregon Coast Aquarium. As part of my involvement with Coast Connections and the newly adopted Reach for Reading Curriculum, I identified correlations (and missing pieces) between the Next Generation Science Standards and Reach for Reading focal areas for grades K-5.

Clear and regular communications to staff, students, and families matter - especially during times of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity.

What People Are Saying

“Dependability is a critical quality in an employee. Stacia is someone you can count on. When she offers her assistance, she follows through and often goes above and beyond. Working on a team where we depended on each other made this quality especially important.”

— Denise Johnson, second grade teacher at Robert Down Elementary

“Stacia’s familiarity with both the formal and informal worlds of education give her a wide and well-rounded perspective. She has tremendous professional wisdom and has considerable experience working with school administrators to introduce and implement new programs.”

— Linda Williams, former Robert Down Elementary Principal

As Principal, Stacia has built staff morale, and has made people feel like their opinion and ideas are a valued part of the team. She emphasizes learning and standards, but at the same time, recognizes this is an elementary school and that FUN is important too. She has helped Hillcrest be a place where kids and staff WANT to be! She is accessible, easy to approach, and easy to problem solve with.
— Katie Scheirman, Kindergarten teacher

“Stacia is seen by others as a natural leader and is highly skilled at bringing people together to address a common goal. People see her as a knowledgeable and supportive leader and readily follow her lead.”

— Stanley Paine, former Oregon and National Distinguished Principal, University of Oregon Administrator Licensure Program Mentor

“Stacia is a person who always goes above and beyond. For example, this year due to COVID-19 teachers have been required to completely change how they deliver their teaching. Stacia was the backbone who spearheaded our team to grow as a cohort to accomplish this task. She provided support for our team whenever she could.”

— Kim Eason, former third grade teacher at Sam Case Elementary

You would make a great Superintendent!
— Kevin Bogatin, former North Bend School District Superintendent; current Superintendent at Tumwater School District in Washington
